Linden Pavilion

A competition entry for a lightweight park pavilion: a timber canopy on slender columns that shelters a café, a stage and public seating.

Idea

One continuous roof, many uses underneath. The canopy is a grid of glulam beams with a translucent membrane, so the space below feels like a clearing under trees.

Flexibility

Folding glass walls let the café close up in winter while the rest of the canopy stays open as a covered square.
